Does your living room look like this?
If it does, I'm a little bit jealous, because my living room currently looks more like this:
A. Ornaments lovingly hand-picked by a toddler with a beach bucket.
B. Ornaments lovingly hand-mauled by cats.
C. At least three sewing projects in progress (per person).
D. Church Christmas Pageant set painting in progress.
E. Handmade Christmas card project in progress.
F. A fine layer of sawdust tracked in from the porch.
G. (Not pictured) All the boxes of decorations still waiting to be unpacked.
And thus is life with a family of creative people in a small living space. And actually, I kind of love the mess because it means we're all busy little crafting beavers, happily making gifts in our own imperfect ways.
But those perfectly decorated homes are so pretty....
Okay, how about this. If you have a perfectly decorated home, you can invite us over. We'll ooh and aah over the beauty of your home, leave you with something handcrafted and heartfelt, and you'll get to redecorate the tree after we leave. Win-win, right?
Deck the halls with more Unnecessary Winter Holiday Traditions. Oh yes, really.
